ISDN FOR BUSINESS

The Networks, Inc. launches business class ISDN Internet services in the Central PA market.

York, PA -- August 15, 1996 --

The Networks, Incorporated announces the immediate availability of high-speed ISDN access for all of its commercial customers in the Lancaster, Harrisburg and York markets.

Yes, we finally have ISDN in the York & Lancaster markets. While Bell Atlantic has enabled us to offer ISDN access to our customers in the greater Harrisburg and Lancaster markets, York has been patiently waiting, and waiting, and waiting....

We've completely overhauled our entire network to provide all-digital services at our points-of-presence throughout the region says David Dreyer, CEO. We completed our upgrade to a new switch fabric on our backbone to accommodate full PRI (23 channel) ISDN, Frame Relay, Switched-56 and digital/analog modem access. The tarriff for this service doesn't presently allow for unlimited access unless you're located in our service region, which is a big plus for our customers. Business-class users will find this to be a fast, economical alternative to analog dial-up service.

The fastest,
flat-rate Internet
service

The future of commercial networking hinges on successful deployment of new and substantially faster digital communication services. The economic growth of our region is dependent on the availability of these infrastructure services to bring networking into the mainstream for business.

Electronic Commerce appears to be on the verge of rapid acceptanace in the larger business community, with the advent of new and inexpensive standards for business-to-business communications. Fueled largely by the enormous growth in popularity of the Internet, businesses have choices today that enable rapid reduction in the costs of communication, coupled with global access to standard voice/data/fax network services.

" Central PA's Business Network

The Networks continues to bring the best in communications technologies to bear to solve problems businesses confront. The next major initiative will involve migration of the metropolitan backbone from T-1 (1.544 Mbps) service to frational T-3 service via ATM. This will provide very scalable bandwidth increases for commercial customers and will allow the network to transport voice/video/data along the same network without sacrificing Quality of Service levels.
