Through its Youth Exchange programs over the past 15 years, more than 60 York County high school students hvae had the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to spend a year with a family overseas. At the same time, more than 50 foreign students have spent a year in York County, sharing their culture with students in our community.
A native of Hadano City, Japan, Aki spent his visit with us getting good grades at York Central High School, adding his trumpet playing skills to the school band, sharing his own rich cultural heritage, and, above all, making friends.
Whether in-bound like Aki and the many other youngsters from different lands or York's own out-bound diplomats, members of the Youth Exchange are helping to make the First Capital and international crossroads.
