The Rotary Club of York is no stranger to the threat family violence poses to our community. Support for Access York is one way the Club believes it can help. The Club has also hosted speakers from Access York at its meetings so Rotarians can discover that family violence is an attack against everyone, that must be confronted to be stopped.
Crispus Attucks
Achievement best describes Crispus Attucks and its role in the York community. The Rotary Club of York is proud to have forged a partnership with this dynamic organization. Among the accomplishments of this partnership are help with CA's Youth Against Drugs program and conversion of JT's Tavern on S. George St. from neighborhood eyesore to residential family unit.
During a recent field trip, members from CA's Youth Against Drugs Program stopped to pose for a group picture. The Program promotes and offers educational, social, recreational, and cultural alternatives to drug abuse and self-destructive behavior to inner city and at risk youth. They are presently serving over 400 people in our community between the ages of 5 and 18.
